Free webhost suggestions?

Post by GoldenFalcon »

I'm looking for a free webhost.

Now, I don't mind if it has ads (they all do anyway), but is there one out there that would just settle for normal banner-ads nowadays? I also need a free webhost with a decent amount of space available (2-5mb isn't going to really cut it :?).

Suggestions please? Thanks.

I'm asking this because it'll be awhile before I have something worthy of a paid webhost, and I'm looking for more or less a temporary place to put a site, without having someone being raped by spyware-ridden popups.

250free.com is pretty decent, I think. As far as I know, it just puts a banner at the top of the page.

You can try 50megs.com for a while until you decide to upgrade it.

And bottom. And there are popups too (but that shouldn't be a problem for anyone with a semi-decent pop-up blocker [ahem, Mozilla]).

i've been using yahoo geo$hitties for my webhosting, which is rather limited in need. Photobucket is what i've been using to host my images however, and is easily the best service i've come across for that area.

A very neice free host that I found recently is http://www.mxhost.net

The free package includes 25 Mb space, php, mysql, perl, CGI, 2GB traffic/month and one banner at the top of each page.

The administration can be done using CPanel.

However the home page of this host is in Romanian. Let me know if you need any help with that. But once authenticated, the CPanel interface is in English.

The server is in US and it says it has 99.99%uptime (as everyboday says)
