I knew a girl in grade school named Sunshine, and I went to high school with one named Urania. My sister is named Kaye-Dee, aka K.D., and she was born years before k.d. lang became famous.

About designer/soft names, a lot of them seem to be Gaelic, like Colin, Cameron and Aidan. Soft names, but certainly real. Probably a few generations ago, Sean, Ian, and Kevin were considered soft. I agree with George Carlin asking "Whatever happened to Eddie? Where's Eddie? He was here a minute ago."

About someone naming their child Gonorrhea, there was a line in the movie Booty Call that referred to that. Sadly, this will kill the names Honoria and Honorius along with it.

Finally, how long before someone names a child J-Lo?
For the glory of Gondor, I sack this here concession stand!

I eagerly await the day somebody is legitimately given the name Death Incarnate.
"Hi there, would you like to have a cookie?"

"No, actually I would HATE to have a cookie, you vapid waste of inedible flesh!"
