Black Sabbath at Ozzfest

Post by Gerard_Paloma »

Woot! Black Sabbath is playing Ozzfest this year. I missed them the last time they toured (which I think was at Ozzfest 2001), and I'll be damned if I miss them again. I can't wait. :D

Aren't you going to be in the US this summer anyway, or is there some rule where Ozzy can't be in the same country as you? :D

The Bands

Some other cool news.
Judas Priest announced their reunion with original members Rob Halford (vocals), Glenn Tipton (guitars), K.K. Downing (guitars) and Ian Hill (bass) plus Scott Travis (on drums) in July 2003 and are currently working on their New Album - their first collaboration since 1991! The New Album is due for release later in the year.

The Band, who recently released a DVD on Sony Music entitled 'Electric Eye' which consisted of all promo videos, a live concert from 1986 plus some rare television appearances are also putting together (again with Sony) a retrospective box set which spans all of their career from 'Rocka Rolla' to 'Demolition' entitled 'Metalogy' and will be issues in a limited edition package and as an added bonus will contain a live DVD of a complete concert filmed in 1982 from the 'Screaming for Vengeance' Tour.

The Band are set to embark upon a world tour comencing in Europe in June 2004, then moving on to the Ozzfest in the USA and then continuing onto all corners of the Planet!!

As much as I like Judas Priest and Black Sabbath, I'm not sure whether they'd compensate for all the crappy mallcore which the Ozzfest consists of.

What sucks is that they're only playing one local So Cal location, if you can call it local for most people in Los Angeles. That's right, Ontario. A two-hour drive from LA.

Yeah, well, I can't say the Ozzfest itself will be enjoyable, but I've never seen Sabbath live (or Judas Priest, for that matter), and that's definitely something I've gotta do, Ozzfest or no Ozzfest.
