A question of semantics

Exactly what is the difference between a dweeb, a nerd and a geek? :?

I assume you mean what's the 'definition' of said words. Merriam-Webster is your friend ;)

Dweeb: an unattractive, insignificant, or inept person.

Nerd: an unstylish, unattractive, or socially inept person; especially : one slavishly devoted to intellectual or academic pursuits.

Geek: apparently two definitions.

1 : a carnival performer often billed as a wild man whose act usually includes biting the head off a live chicken or snake.

2 : a person often of an intellectual bent who is disapproved of.

Actually, by definition, a 'geek' is a circus freak who bites the heads off chickens and )both literally and figuratively) digs their own hole to perform in.

'Nerd' more or less refers to someone whose hobbies and interests are not socially normal/acceptable/mainstream. There's connotations of being socially withdrawn, but probably not to the same extent that being a gross public spectacle like a geek technically is.

Usually, though, I believe "Geek" is used to refer to people who are socially "inept" AND have a lot to do with computers.
Nerd is more just anyone who likes Sci-Fi or good books (rather than sports and such exclusively).
Dork (at least as I hear it) is a more endearing term, and denotes eccentricity.

I thought a dork was just somebody who was stupid.

Dork is another word for penis, as I found out one regrettable day in my english class.

NOT WORK SAFE a real dork

I prefer being classified as a nerd as opposed to a geek.

There are many factions in the Nerd-Geek Wars, which I should lay out at some later time.

Basically the Nerds are the good guys, while the Geeks are our mortal enemies. :P

Seriously, though, I go to the Park School, and it's a really dorky school (smart people are more popular). So I could very well have a false impression.
