I'm listening to a local DC radio station. They are interviewing a PI with ties into the local police depts. Here is what he just said; (info attributed to state and federal cops):

-The rifle IS a semi-auto AR type .

-The two men shot as a team-one shooter, one driver.

-The shooter fired directly FROM INSIDE THE CAR in most of the shootings. They fired from outside of the car only in a couple of the cases. That's why shell casings were found only at a couple of the crime scenes.

-The big Chevy was modified to provide a shooting blind. The rear seat of the car was removed to permit the shooter to lie prone, facing the rear of the car. They cut a hole in the rear of the trunk, through which to aim the rifle. Immediately upon firing, the driver would simply drive away. THIS would help explain how they escaped so easily.

-There NEVER was any white van, white truck or any other vehicle.

-The shooters were stopped by authorities on at least one and possibly two separate occasions and were allowed to pass. The PI said his sources said they were concentrating on locating one or more white males. A black man and his kid didn't fit their preconceived profile.

-The shooters were taunting the police in at least one of their notes, saying that they had in fact had them in their grasp and let them go.

I don't know about Malvo's religion, but it is being reported that Muhammad converted to Islam 17 years ago, even before he fought in the Gulf War, and only changed his name to Muhammad about last year, after 9/11, and that he expressed sympathy and support with the hijackers to some of his friends.

It appears that it may be religiously motivated from the same motivations as OBL, though a direct terrorist connection for Muhammad is not clear. It's almost more sinister if there isn't one, the idea of some average Muslim convert simply deciding to up and kill Americans after 9/11.

Interestingly, though, several months ago there was a report from a British online news service that there was a terrorist training camp in Alabama owned by British Muslims, and used for firearms and explosives training, including training in how to attack school buses and police vehicles, etc. I, nor anyone else, didn't give it much credence at the time.. I'm trying to dig it up right now, and see if it specifically mentioned the Ground Zero camp.

What is a surprise is that Asscroft, with his rather relaxed views on the importance of human rights, hasn't yet decided to take out the trash and remove the <10 million Islamist terrorists...er...ordinary Muslims from the United States. It's high time people in official circles brought up the concept of mass internment or mass deportation: ordinary Muslims are rapidly proving themselves to be too dangerous to leave unsupervised.

That's not true. Look at the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, where shootings like this do occur, though usually by different gunmen each time. There are also cases of lone murders in, for example, Kuwait, where a single American soldier was killed and one wounded by two Al-Qaeda gunmen, and another such attack foiled by the US troops afterwards.

Apparently there may be a connection between John Mohammad and the Ground Zero camp to which I posted the link on - He may indeed have ties to Islamic terror.

I think you're being rather judgemental. Though the situation is rather severe, quick action can save it, and furthermore there are indeed secular Muslims in the world. Not to mention that at one time Muslim culture was the most advanced in the world; it's just that their culture is a static one, nothing particular about their minds, rather mindset.
