I like both, so we go to the tie-breaker: diet versions.
Now, I don't like Diet Pepsi, but I loathe Diet Coke. I'd rather drink water, for chrissake's.

Try it yourself, a can of Diet Coke WILL float.

I personally prefer coke, becasue I hate pepsi and their horrible ad campaigns. And it tastes like coke with a bucket more of suger added.
But since I am broke and in college I have stopped drinking soda, unless it is mixed with other things, meaning captain morgan and coke.

I was referring to using Coca-Cola as a spermicide. That's false.

I actually like Coke more than Pepsi, although Dr. Pepper and Sprite are both infinitely superior to the "plain" colas.

Hah, one time a friend of mine's father put a large steak in a bowl filled with Coke to try and convince his children to not drink Coke. The steak had dissolved within a day, completely.

Of course it would dissolve. Coke contains carbonic and phosphoric acid. Protein bonds tend to be rapidly hydrolysed by acid conditions.

Hey, Kelly, give 'em a break, I used to have that job! The C02 containers they use are HUGE and HEAVY, and when its time to change them, you have to roll them out back, get a full one, and roll it back in. It's a pain in the ass for both worker and customer.Kelly Antilles wrote: That's when you go to them and say "excuse me, but your CO2 is out." and get pissy if they don't go change it RIGHT THEN!

Sorry IG. Kelly and I are not paying them for a break. We want carbonated soda. I know that shit is heavy. So are the Coke Boxes. I used to move that stuff when I worked in places like that. It comes with the territory.Hey, Kelly, give 'em a break, I used to have that job! I remember in the 70's they used to have Coke commericals with a girl that giggled from the bubbles in a soda. Most places now it the soda is so flat it does not even have bubbles on the side of the glass.
Red Robin is the the most notorious in my book.

I know. I worked with them too, but if they're stupid enough to let them go out completely, they deserve it. They are lazy. I always checked the co2 and drinks between shows when I worked at the theater.IG-88E wrote:Hey, Kelly, give 'em a break, I used to have that job! Speaking of glass bottles, didn't drinks taste better coming from a glass bottle?
I don't like those 2 liter bottles because after being in the fridge for a while, they become flat. It takes about 24 hours for my 20 oz. bottle of Mountain Dew to go flat. Do other drinks in other portions get flat any faster or slower?
I don't like ice in my drinks because it doesn't take long ofr the ice to melt and water up the drink. But, if it's not iced, it's warm, and I don't like warm drinks.

Hey, you worked at a theatre!? So did I!!!! Then they fired me over some bullshit...but that's besides the point....six of those 5 foot x 2 foot CO2 containers....Ugh....we were one of the busiest theatres in the state, and it takes a LONG time to run out of those things....well, as far as I noticed...but when one did, all hell broke loose becuase none of our managers knew how to change one, none of the employees did (because none of the managers did), and we always had to call the friggin Coca-Cola people. Then we had to run all the way across the teeny little concession stand (it's three feet between counters) with six people on register, three poppers going, and only one Coke tower that worked...and don't even let me get started on what happens when that particular ice bin breaks down and the Cokes start running out...!Kelly Antilles wrote:I know. I hate it when the syrup is nearly out and you get a cup full of that nasty soda water.Kelly Antilles wrote:That's when you go to them and say "excuse me, but your CO2 is out." and get pissy if they don't go change it RIGHT THEN!TrailerParkJawa wrote: My pet peeve is flat soda from fast food resteraunts.

I have a couple of resealable caps for 2-litre bottles that do a great job of keeping them from going flat.Asst. Asst. Lt. Cmdr. Smi wrote:Speaking of glass bottles, didn't drinks taste better coming from a glass bottle?

I too would rather have very little to no ice in my drink as long as the original soda is relatively cool. I hate getting a huge cup full of ice and a tinsy bit of soda. I'm thirsty, not trying to see how long my drink will stay cold. Besides that, temperature extremes can do a number on my teeth.
