Ok, Iggy's latest fic has made the muse wake up. Anyone who wishes to be in a fanfic as a musician, please let me know. I also need to know on which instrument as well. The majority of the music will be jazz style.

Do you need to know someone well to put them in a fanfic? What I mean is, is it their personality you put in there, or just their name? Or neither? Or a bit of both? As you can tell, I don't know much about fanfics....(sorry!).

For instance, if I told you that I play jazz vibes (which I do IRL), would you be able to use me, or probably not since we don't know each other very well yet?

Even if you don't use me, I think you need a chick in there somewheres.

Preferably playing some stereotypically-masculine instrument... Perhaps the bass clarinet?

You occasionally find them in jazz (Pat Metheny for one).... Just a thought, dahlink.

Nah Verilon...Have you heard the sounds an electric viola can produce? Freakin scary how good it sounds.

Well, lets see, I have played trombone in the past. Can I play that. I don't think bag-pipes would be the go in a jazz setting.

I used to play the big string bass. I was quite good at it, I think, but not much of a spontaneous player.

It doesn't matter if you can play well or not. It's a fic, you could all be virtuosos.

I play guitar mostly, but am equally adept on the bass. Fairly decent drummer, ok singer (more backup than lead), a little keys, and I played tuba and baritone in high school (but quite rusty now, to be sure [my horn playing, not me]).

I have a mid-70's Fender Twin you can borrow for the fanfic too. Nothing like the sweet tube tones of a Twin

Oh, and I typically don't play naked, as my avatar suggests. That was a one time gig.

All right, then!

Sign me up for acoustic guitar (been a few years since I've played, but I had 5+ years of lessons growing up), although most of my experience playing was either doing classical pieces or semi-religious stuff.

Also, I'm a very decent singer -- been singing as a tenor in the church choir for almost 10 years now, and have a fairly decent voice and range...
