It's real, it's from an all day photoshoot that the cast just got tired of being there and decided to goof off a little to shoot off some steam. And it was for TV guild AFAIK

My guess is that it's the real deal. Do you have any idea how boring making a TV show can be? You sit there for weeks at a time filming the same things over and over. Eventually there comes a point when you do things for fun, just to break the monotony of it. Since directors and producers usually want happy cast-members, they'll go along with it so long as it requires a minimum of investment.

The real interesting thing is the guy on the right's not flicking the camera off, he's pointing with his index finger. Looks real to me, since a faked one probably wouldn't do that, and I agree that the shadows look real.

That picture better be real. I bought the 11x14 with them, and I have the following autographs on it:

BTW, assuming my copy is genuine, Delenn was edited (3rd from right). In my picture, she has both fingers out. In the link you have, the tip of the finger is blacked out to make it look like she's shooting a bird.

Maybe it's similar to the British method, IIRC - two fingers up, like a backwards peace/victory sign.

In the latter years of greater Yugoslavia's existence, I believe the preferred gesture of personal insult involved a AKM or AK-47 and high-velocity lead poisoning.

As for the insult gestures used in Croatia, a Google search turned up

Palm back "V" sign (like power salute with "V") = victory. Sometimes, with knuckles outward, the gesture means strong anger.
