Could a GE AC6000 pull....

Post by Lukedanieljames »

The General Electric AC6000, one of the most powerful trains around today, question is, what can it pull?

Say it was a modest day out, perfect conditions...a track was layed out for it, and a super strong chain was attached to the back of this 'engine'

ON the other side pulling back (say they both start from a standstill) could the AC6000 pull

1. D11 Caterpillar Bulldozer
2. 797 Caterpillar Dump truck
3. The empire state building down if the chain was wrapped around support structures
4. A very powerful tug boat

I know trains are strong, but stronger than those ??

here is a great site with the train info
https://www.getransportation.com/genera ... AC6000.htm

200,000 lbs tractive effort?!

Something else to consider...if it is a standstill, how long can the engine keep trying to pull on the AC6000 compared to the boat or land based vehciles?
