This is the last one I swear.
What if Napoleon instead of invading Russia took le grande armee to the Iberian penninsula?

For one, la grande armee wouldn't be bogged down by the russian winter. They would march swiftly through nice, warm weather, except there's always the small mountain range separating Spain and France to cross.
Once they get over the mountain, it would be difficult for them to be resupplied, cause the English controls the Channel and the wagons would have to cross the mountains. So Napoleon would be smart to take control of the Channel first.

The French were in Iberia, and it was a costly war which they were pushed back towards the Prynees. Napeleon would of needed some forces too hold off the Russian Horde or they would some Slavs marching across Prussia.

Napeleon lost control of the Channel thanks too a certain British Admiral called Horatio Nelson Trafalger. He didn't even need the Channel. If nessecary he could always run supllies from Bordeaux too Northern Spain.jaeger115 wrote:For one, la grande armee wouldn't be bogged down by the russian winter. Then it would be all pointless. the French the power in Iberia bu not the Supplies. If the La Grand Armee would of stopped and made camp in Paland the French could win Spain.Tosho wrote:I was aware they were in Iberia.Captain Lennox wrote:The French were in Iberia, and it was a costly war which they were pushed back towards the Prynees. Le Grande Armee could get supplies by foraging. The french were being beaten back, historically the situation deteriorated with Le Grande Armee we have a large source of reinforcments and the tactical genius of Napoleon and his best marshals. Wellington would most likley lose to Napoleon in Iberia because in addition to not having Blucher being able help him for obvious reasons the size of the french forces meant that in addition being able to command a huge force personly, Napoleon would be able to give his best marshals more troops than they usely would have. Napoleon could form a strategy involving defeating Wellington, forcing him to retreat headlong in to an ambush commanded by Oudinot then all Napoleon would need to do is pin Wellington's force down and pound it in to oblivion.Captain Lennox wrote:Then it would be all pointless. the French the power in Iberia bu not the Supplies.
