Gemmel?

I was wondering if anyone else here has read David Gemmel?
If you have, what do you think is his best novel and why?
Who is his best character?

I personally must go with Waylander, the Prince of Assasins. He is by far the best of Gemmel's darker heros and throught the entire series of books based around him he evolves wonderfully.
As for the best book....probably "Sword in the Storm" for the first tales of the Rigante and of course of Connavars tradgedy. Or "Hero In the Shadows" For the end of the Waylander trilogy.
