Showing a main characters aircraft flipping over and sinking in 5 seconds or shattering would harm the last two hours of the movie no?

IMHO PH would have been tens times better if Alfeck's(sp) character had stayed dead.[/quote]

I would have to say Pearl Harbour was by far the worse of the two, because it is actually about a well documented rl event.

As for Battlefield Earth, my main problem was that it was done to quickly on to low a budget. I personally feel that they should have waited and done like the Lord of the Rings, three 3 1/2 hour movies. The directors should have also stuck more closely to the book.

This could have happened. According to Rear Admiral Julian Becton, a Japanese airplane (during a different attack), took the colors off of the destroyer Laffey, when it went through the mess of stuff on top of the tower, taking down both the flagpole and the radar set.

Another complaint came from a person I work with who was at Pearl Harbor. According to him (I didn't see the movie), there's one scene where there's a single American biplane flying recon. He was in that unit, and they didn't have biplanes at the time, they had just modernized to monoplanes (I believe P-35s, but I may be wrong). He was pissed for about two months about that.
The destroyers where parked away from anything tall. The Zero in question was flying in-between the rows of battleships and well below the level of the cage masts.

Ah...nm, then. No sane pilot would fly between the rows of battleships at low level.

Actually, on second thought, maybe he would. The gunners would likely cease fire rather than hit the other ship. Still bloody unlikely, though.

Havn't Seen either movies, Don't intend on seeing either movies, They lie in my list of three movies, (So far) that I Will never EVER no matter how Bored/sucidal/insane/Psychopathic/etc I get subject myself too. (The other one is Titanic, yep I have managed to avoid seeing the entire movie. I've seen pieces of it of course, I have two sister's and a Mum after all, but have avoided seeing anymore than five minutes at any one time. (and normally the same five minutes.)
From a review of the two Towers.... 'As for Gimli being comic relief, what if your comic relief had a huge axe and fells dozens of Orcs? That's a pretty cool comic relief. '
