Anybody remember/still playing this game?
This is one of the best squad based tactical games.
Nice animations
mercs with personality
a good selection of "realistic" weapons.
Vehicles
the ability the create a "player character" via
multiple choice query.
a female villain with a whipping boy

JA2 had features like train Milita and defend against attacks. Go back and buy new stuff, fire mercs that sux...

UF did't allow for anything like that it was walk to that square, shoot all enemy.

Walk to next rinse and repeat...

At the first part you could walk back and pick up dropped stuff but after a while it was you can't go back only way is forward.

Hated that. Had a Barret 50 and no ammo

I love JA2 and recently started playing it again.
There are also tons of good weapon mods out there. (me = gun nut)

UB was very disappointing, almost no storyline and the sectors you could travel were all in a straight line. And only one city!
But the map editor was good.
