So I just watched this out of some morbid curiosity that will most likely kill me one day. It looks like your usual Hollywoodised watered-down piece of shit bastardisation of a beloved children's show, except for a few disturbing pieces of imagery. Check it out, I dare you.

Yeah, I've always taken the subtext of the Birther movement to be, "The rules don't count here! This is different! HE'S BLACK! BLACK, I SAY! ARE YOU ALL BLIND!?

Technically, it's a children's book series.
Well, to be fair, the trailer looks better than those Yogi Bear and Maramduke movies.

Turns out that a five way cross over between It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, the Ali G Show, Fargo, Idiocracy and Veep is a lot less funny when you're actually living in it.

Only Paddington story I remember when he attempts carpentry and ends up with a table at about ankle height.
Thw only joke that really felt right was the 'dogs must be carried' one, not all the gross out bathroom stuff.

Just doesn't have the Paddington Bear look compared to the children's show, which IMO had a nicer appearance.

It's funny, I'll give it that. But why the hell would anyone invite a bear to stay at his house? It just sounds counter intuitive.
It has become clear to me in the previous days that any attempts at reconciliation and explanation with the community here has failed. I have tried my best. I really have. I pored my heart out trying. But it was all for nothing.
You win. There, I have said it.
Now there is only one thing left to do. Let us see if I can sum up the strength needed to end things once and for all.

British hospitality at work. And the books were set in the 1960s and 1970s IIRC, so the parents probably felt some sort of experiential empathy with him (they were probably Blitz evacuees).Purple wrote:It's funny, I'll give it that.
