Best Republican and Democrat administrations

What administration do you think was the overall best administration for both the Republicans and Democrats?

Republicans: Lincoln gets the nod, with TR as the best peacetime Republican

Democrats: James K. Polk. Annexed by treaty or conquest one third of the modern continental United States.

Whigs: Millard Filmore wins by default, mostly by not dying in office.

Federalists: Washington, who established the precedent of the president peacefully turning over his office at the end of his constitutional term.

Jefferson and Lincoln: the first of the parties, the best of the parties.

Washington never technically declared himself to be a Federalist (he loathed the idea of party politics), but I consider him one because he sided with them most of the time. Adams signed the Alien and Sedition Acts.

Overall I could never decide. For this century though, Eisenhower.
