My system was dual boot linux/xp-pro until I wiped out the linux partitions for some needed space (hey, I love muh anime, mp3s, and half-life)
If I finish backing up my 130 gig worth of anime and mp3s I'll put that linux on faster than you can say "I'll bet you're the kind of guy that would fuck a person in the ass and not even have the goddam common courtesy to give him a reach-around!"

"Right now we can tell you a report was filed by the family of a 12 year old boy yesterday afternoon alleging Mr. Michael Jackson of criminal activity. A search warrant has been filed and that search is currently taking place. Mr. Jackson has not been charged with any crime. We cannot specifically address the content of the police report as it is confidential information at the present time, however, we can confirm that Mr. Jackson forced the boy to listen to the Howard Stern show and watch the movie Private Parts over and over again."

I'd like to try dual boot during the summer, but if I had to pick one I'd choose WinXP Home - gaming capability is important to me, and WinXP has more legacy compadability options, I believe. I don't need Pro's features, so I'll save money. Security isn't a first priority; as a high school student I don't actually spend any money, and address vulnerbilites I try to counter with stuff with Firewalls. The price of all this of course, is having to reinstall everything and make backups all the time... Bring me back to try Linux sometime.

I very much prefer Macs, though I tend to customize them if possible, like with a nice multibutton trackball or mouse.GrandMasterTerwynn wrote:Bah, I haven't used Amigas all that much. But I have used Macs, and I have yet to meet one that I really like.
PocketPC (heir to WinCE) is quite smooth, though for a PDA I'd rather use PalmOS.True. An example of what Windows 9x can do without all the DOS baggage were the old Windows CE OSes.
That's because Microsoft put serious effort into the NT kernel, which is good.Yeah, Win 9x didn't have the world's best multitasking capabilities. The multitasking in the Win NT derivatives is much better though.

On any given piece of hardware? Definitely Mac OS X. I don't want to spend my computing experience looking at a GUI that induces nausea (Windows XP) or looks robotic (Windows 2000).
