Stefan Lessard, Paul McCartney (check out his wicked baseline in Taxman), John Paul Jones, and of course the bass genius that is Derek Smalls.

I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.

Hawksley Workman (played on Sarah Slean's album) and whoever played bass at Sarah's live concerts.
Billy Cox - does the cool bass grooves for Jimi Hendrix
Cliff Burton (Metallica) - Take a listen to the bassline in "Orion"
And John Paul Jones, of course.

Lusankya: Deal!
Say, do you want it to be a threesome with your wife? Or a foursome with your wife and sister-in-law? I'm up for either.

Jaco Pastorious - god of the fretless electric. Does things that bassists still struggle with.
Victor Wooten - would probably equal Jaco if it weren't for the fact that his hands are small.
Charles Mingus - He had his own unique style of writing and playing that I liked. Plus, he did a whole song in "loving" tribute to Orvile Faubus
Geddy Lee - If I ever could say that I've seen a bass carying the music more than the guitarist, it would be Geddy from Rush. He has such ellegance and groove in his playing.
