What continent...

Post by weemadando »

No flaming of other nationalities please...

And also, Hawaii would count as a part of NorthAm and not Oceania. Just as Vladivostok would count as Europe, not Asia.

Born in the SF Bay Area and lived here most of my life except for a few years in N. Dakota.

Actually, Im just 2 cities down from Raxmei. I think Robert T. is also a Bay Area resident.

Having to count Vladivostok as Europe is dumb. It is most defenitely in Asia, and furthermore everyone who knows anything knows this.

You should move to NYC. A lot closer and a lot more exciting.

Oh, yeah. Now I remember that one. Isn't that where everyone from Brazil came from?

Seriously, though, I've never been to Portugal. Is it similar to Spain culturally, or totally different?

A miserable little town called Kerava (part of the Helsinki metropolitan area), Finland - the country of polar bears and sauna, located between ABBA and Stalin, our wonderful neighbours.

Yes, you bastard :P Brazil was discovered by the Portuguese in 1500. And we started the European sea expansion period, but don't flame me for it, please.

Well, it's pretty similar, at least from a foreigner viewpoint. The languages are sufficiently alike for us to communicate, We have lot's of sun and beaches so it's really easy to drop off work.
We're a friendly country, attracting lots of tourists (mainly english and german) and with very few racial/integration problems (thank God for that).
We speak English WAY BETTER than the spanish

Lastly, we were, to my knowledge, the only country to make a sucessful revolution against a dictatorship with only one casuality and with the army looking like this:

And I like our flag:

Never made it to either Portugal or Spain. I did go to Macao while it was still under Portugal's rulel. I really enjoyed The Crazy Paris Show at one of the casinos. :D

Yay, I was right. 8) Read about the Glorious Revolution here:

http://65.107.211.206/history/Glorious_Revolution.html

Important lines:
William landed with an army at Torbay in November 1688, promised to defend the liberty of England and the Protestant religion, and marched unopposed on London. James fled ignominiously to France. Parliament then met, denounced James, offered the throne to William and his wife Mary as joint sovereigns, and placed constitutionally significant legal and practical limitations on the monarchy.
and read all about the Glorious Revolution here:

Deptford, New Jersey, a shithole little pig farming township about ten miles from Philadelphia. We have a mall, and our high school football team won the state championship once. Go Spartans.
