[Alternate History] Alexander the Great vs. Europe

Post by Crayz9000 »

Let's say that, instead of setting his sights on Asia Minor and that area, Alexander looked north-west toward Europe.

Do you think he would be able to conquer most, if not all, of Europe? And what effect do you think that would have on history?

Well, if he ignores Asia Minor he's going to have to continually deal with Persian aggression slowly down any campaign towards Europe.

I think Alexander, could he get an army north, would do fairly well. Probably not as well as the Romans did as the Greek style of warfare is less suited to that sort of terrian.

And of course his logistics are going to be a nightmare in Europe and that's going to be the hazard to Alexander.
