Calling all engineers calling all engineers..
Need some help guys. I'm looking for some type of pump that will give enough pressure to push water through 2500 ft of 3 inch pipes up a 150 ft drop that can run off of regular household AC power. Anyone know where I can find such a thing or find someone who knows about these stuff? Trying to set up a watersprinklign system for a ranch runway.

Here's the thing, pumps have a capacity rating in gallons/minute and a another rating in how high they can lift that water, the 2 ratings are interdependent to some extent. You'll see something on the pump that says something like "3 gal/min @ 100' " which means it can lift water 100' at a flow rate of 3 gal/min. Reducing the lift distance will slightly increase the flow rate, while increasing it beyond specs will stall and/or kill the pump. For reference a garden hose will spray roughly 5-10 gallons/minute depending on water pressure and what kind sprinkler/nozzle you've attached to it.

Say, do you want it to be a threesome with your wife? Or a foursome with your wife and sister-in-law? I'm up for either.

If you know the flow rate on the sprinkler heads you're using and the number of heads, we might be able to figure something out.

What unit did you just measure the height in?aerius wrote:Here's the thing, pumps have a capacity rating in gallons/minute and a another rating in how high they can lift that water, the 2 ratings are interdependent to some extent.
