It's because the sentence structure is so rigid, Faram. You could do the same for Swedish with relative impunity and get much the same results, because the sentence structure is similarly rigid and the consonant/vowel ratio is very similar (155/100 for Swedish, 151/100 for English), and the words in both languages are relatively short.

Finnish scrambled the same way would be impossible, because sentence structure does not exist (you can put the words of any single sentence in any random order and meaning is unaltered and it's even correct, though some variations will sound very strange), words are typically twice or three times as long (e.g. "No Smoking!" = "Tupakointi kielletty!", for a quick two word example, now try scrambling a page of text with similar length words...) and every word apart from verbs declinates 14 different ways. If the declination suffixes are not intact at the end of the words, the meaning gets royally screwed.
