Well...

Tujunga data

About 40,000 people in all, but since Tujunga is technically a part of Los Angeles, I think the total population of the LA metropolitan area is in the tens of millions.

I don't know in Western Maryland (the closest point of comparison to North Hickville Maryland I have) they often call such things shindigs OR ho-downs. So quite possibly it was neither a shindig nor a hootenanny but was rather a ho-down.

Evansville, Indiana
POPULATION
With a population of over 290,000, the Evansville, IN-Henderson, KY Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) ranks 162 in the nation. The City of Evansville, population 121,900 is the 3rd largest city in the state of Indiana.
Evansville's a decent place to grow up in and a decent place to grow old in, but there's not a whole lot in between.

I'm in VA, and I don't live in a town or a city. I live in... whatever. On address, it says Lorton VA, but technically in VA, that's neither a town or a city. Anyways, I just put in the population of the county, which is 900000+.

My HS of 2000+ students is larger than some of your towns :P .

Look into City Schools and they'll dwarf them even more. My school currently has ~4000.

I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

My hometown's population is 5,250. Not a suburb of any larger city either. We're the biggest population center for 90 miles in any direction.

As for the smallest towns I've been to. Waltman WY, Population 5, and Hiland WY, Population of 5 also.

And If I'm not mistaken, there's one town here in Wyoming that only has 2 year-round residents.

Edit: Correction. There is one town in Wyoming that has a population of just 1. Lost Springs, Wyoming. I kid you not.
