The quality looks good, but the image is to dark, can't see enough detail on the ship.

The image is deliberately dark, it's a modified "paint scheme". You are seeing the nacelle glow at normal brightness, right?

I can't see much of anything other than a few huge specular highlights and some oversized glows. Turn down the specular, cut the glows down to size and relight the ship so it looks like something more than a collection of glowing parts in close formation.

Yes, it is. And thanks for the advice, the rest of you. I am pretty new at this, and still unfamiliar with a lot of the controls for 3DS Max R3. But I'm working on it, and I'll get it right soon enough. :)
