Here's a question: would you rather pay £10 a head for a biggish screen in Leicester Square, that IMO isn't worth it as far as pic/sound quality go, or more like £5 a head for a west end cinema that's not on the Square itself (like Tottenham Court Road or Covent Garden, for example?)
Me, I'd go for TCR.

OK, I've pencilled in Saturday 20th (meet somewhere central at noon, depart to respective abodes at closing time).

However this isn't optimum for me, because it's my mother's birthday that week, and I can't see her the w/e before because I'm at a conference.

But assuming people don't want to disrupt the solstice season, I'm willing to make the sacrifice

I'll need to know points of entry into the city (station/airports) to arrange the rendezvous.
Any touristy things you want to do in the afternoon? I've not been on the Eye yet, so that's my preference

I will be definatly going. As it's my 1st time in London i'll need a guide and maybe someone to pick me up at the airport. Which airport is closest to you IB? When going to a pub afterwards can we go to a bar, preferably somewhere where my accent won't cause trouble, i've heard some scare storied about near death incidents with people who equate Irish with IRA.

I don't think there's any other weekend available to me to be honest, I'm only home for 3 weeks, and I don't want to be gallivanting off to London 2 days before new year ( as that's only 5 days until I leave, and I have a kiloton of explosives to buy in...)

My excuse for not being interested is that my college in Exeter is renting out the ENTIRE local cinema for the day it's premiered, that means no one but college students doing a media course can see it in Exeter on the day it's released!

My reason for not going is as follows. My dads factory went on unofficial strike, so Bombardier Aerospace canceled my dads pay, giving my dad one weeks wages to last a month, the christmas month. This meant i had to cancel my tickets and give my family all my money so we could have a few luxuries for christmas, like lighting, food and heat.

I will try and get a visit over to the mainland sometime next year, i was really looking forward to it.
