Well, I rant about this on my homepage already, but as I see it, 99% of porno is crap. It's either:

Really badly acted, badly written pseudo-drama with explicit sex (eg- most "couples-oriented" porno, just about anything with a full-blown storyline)
"Who's yo daddy" abusive, misogynistic crap (Max Hardcore movies, for example)
Mindless "gonzo porn", in which people just have nonstop sex onscreen for no reason.

The best ones are the vignette movies, usually composed of three or four "short story" scenes, in which each scene has a short (preferably light-hearted) setup before the action. In the good ones, everyone looks like they're enjoying themselves (instead of the guys enjoying themselves and the girls being subjected to abusive put-downs, slapping, hair-pulling, etc).

I think the plot-driven Euro-stuff tends to be better, but the European gonzo stuff often tends toward misogyny or quasi-gynecological close-ups of gaping body cavities. The Sodomania series is pretty good. Most "Gangbang Girl" movies are abusive (although #14 was good). You never know what you're going to get, and the box-cover is pretty much useless from a prediction standpoint.

The problem with porn is that most customers seem to be lonely or frustrated men. They either have no women in their lives or they have women but they aren't satisfied with their sex lives, so they look for the misogynistic, abusive stuff. All of that power-tripping hair-pulling stuff turns them on.

There ya go: my dissertation on porn. But the rest of you probably knew most of that already; you just didn't have the guts to admit you watch the stuff

For porn, I'd say that Country Comfort would qualify as a nice, light-hearted flick that Mike would like.

Then again, Devon is one of my favorite porn stars.

When it comes to porn, for me I've always had a soft spot (or is that hard spot) for the Dirty Debutant Series...I just love those girls, all first timers, most we never see again in porn so its sort of fresh faced, natural looking girls, not the science experiments we see in porn these days with the totally unnnatural boobs and oh so obvious plastic surgery. They get the shit fucked out of them and they LOVE it, playing up to the camera.

I still yearn for the natural beauty that was Vanessa Del Rio, all natural, blemishes and all but boy could she fuck....

Hudson Hawk is a great comedy. It has so many great lines in it.

And no, it wasn't the singing. I happen to like the actors.

oh, another realy good movie that I bought not long ago is the Count of MonteCristo. Great movie, not exactly in line with the book, but a great movie.

Ok, see, I come from the era when you would go to see Rocky Horror or The Wall on Friday or Saturday night, usually lit, and see people you know dress up in drag and have a great time. If you know all the lines and when to throw what, etc., it's an excellent movie.

Here are just a few. When you hear

Brad - yell "ASS HOLE"

throw rice at the wedding.
throw toast when they offer a toast at dinner.
whenever Dr. Scott comes on the screen, say "Great Scott!"

Shane's World - A rip-off of Wayne's World, has a cheesy but funny plot where they have a sex scene under some traintracks and get off to a train going over the bridge

Fire and Ice - Excellent use of scenery and lighting, very erotic. Has a scene where hot lesbians pleasure each other each other with large pieces of ice.

Hell on Heels - Lots of hot lesbian action

I also worked a summer job at Canada Customs where part of my job was to screen all the porn that comes into Canada. I've seen donkey fuckers, necrophelia, schoolgirl gangbangs and some really fucked up S&M. But the funniest thing I've ever seen was a video where the male and female stars were fucking stuffed animals and getting off on it, I was laughing my ass off in the screening room, but other people just got grossed out.
