Which is a monopolistic oerganization, profiting off of the fact that players have no where else to play, and that the only way to get into the NFL is through the NCAA.thecreech wrote:All because of some whinney bitch ass player that didn't want to pay his due's in the NCAA

So, there is no reason why he should be able to get in early just because he throws a fit. All other players have done it and were rewarded for their efforts (if they were good enough). Besides can't player go through EFL and AFL?Straha wrote:Which is a monopolistic oerganization, profiting off of the fact that players have no where else to play, and that the only way to get into the NFL is through the NCAA.thecreech wrote:All because of some whinney bitch ass player that didn't want to pay his due's in the NCAA

It isn't monopolistic. There's arena football.

I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.
Which is considered pure and utter crap by almost all NFL fans (including myself) and coaches, and further more due to the style of Arena Football Runningbacks are very rarely used, if ever. That is, if you can get into it because there is no age requirement (which I believe there is.)Joe wrote:It isn't monopolistic. Not just because he threw a fit, but because NCAA Mickey Mouse rules, and the NFL draft regulations violate Anti-Trust left and right. Further more most players who threaten like this are let in right away, I.E. Cris Carter and the new Reciever they have in the draft (Fitzgerald?)thecreech wrote:So, there is no reason why he should be able to get in early just because he throws a fit. As for the other leagues, I know for a fact that the EFL has the same age rules as the NFL, not so sure about the Arena Football, but I highly doubt it's different and it's still utter crap and no place for a runningback.

While I am not a fan of Clarett it is about time that someone challenged the NCAA and NFL on this crap.
Sure it sucks when good players leave schools early or skip college alltogether but the current system has been pathetic for awhile. It was fine when the players thought it was a great deal to go to college on a full ride but now a lot of the players are just hoping to use it as a steping stone to some big bucks. Plus, with the way things are now the players see all the money that is being made off of them and they are being left out.
Just look at the money the coaches can make. $1 million or more a year plus they get money for signing their team to a specific brand of shoe or atheletic gear. Plus there are other endorsements they can make. It's not like being in the pros but these guys are making really huge money compared to the student/athletes that are playing for them. Those guys aren't usually even allowed to have a job because it might be a scam way for boosters to pay players for coming to play at a specific school.
I'd like to see a lot of college sports go back to being based on the students that happened to come to your school (like high school) and not because they were recruited to come to your school soley for sports.
I'd also like to see the NFL (and the NBA) really have to fork out the money to have farm teams. Just think, having a good farm system might be a way for teams to get around a lot of the problems caused by the current payroll cap. An organization with a good farm system could have several good players for a particular postion available as back-ups so we wouldn't see a good team's season completely ruined because one or two guys got hurt early. Of course anything like this happens and the Cardinals will still suck hard.

Even if things get opened up wide as far as the NFL goes I don't think we'll see a whole bunch of high school grads or college underclassmen hitting the draft and making a big splash. The NFL has been burned quite often on draft day so I see them being vary warry of what has to be unproven talent (high schoolers and college underclassmen). Even players who've played 4 years of college ball have turned out as busts but I'd still be more comfortable shelling out the big bucks for someone who has experience on his resume and isn't just counting on his 40 speed and bench press numbers to do everything for him.

Yeah like Brian Bosworth (Seattle) is the biggest bust I recall
The other is Keyshawn? A hold out top draft pick by Cincy a while back. Blew his knee out first game he played.
Once he's been pounded and is thrown out as a has-been, he'll blow all his money in a couple years and spend the rest of his life whining about how unfair life is, and get occasional mentions in the news when he beats girlfriend-of-the-week up.Straha wrote:And get paid millions for it.Howedar wrote:I hate that pussy little bitch Clarett. Or maybe he'll get good, have a good runningbacks coach, and become a pretty good Running Back?Mayabird wrote:Once he's been pounded and is thrown out as a has-been, he'll blow all his money in a couple years and spend the rest of his life whining about how unfair life is, and get occasional mentions in the news when he beats girlfriend-of-the-week up.Straha wrote:And get paid millions for it.Howedar wrote:I hate that pussy little bitch Clarett. The best thing that could happen to Clarett is to be taken in a middle round by a team that already has a good established runningback for him to back up. If some one trys to play him right away I don't have good hopes. There's a big difference between how hard you hit in college and how hard you hit in the NFL, and he had injury problems his freshman year...Straha wrote: Or maybe he'll get good, have a good runningbacks coach, and become a pretty good Running Back?

And he doesn't have to play in the NCAA to go to the NFL, but he does have to wait until two years after his high school graduation, which makes sense. If he goes to the NFL he will be "ice cream for freaks" for some giant linebackers with a steroid problem.

Check above for my opinions on the Arena Football League (and I doubt it accepts people younger then the NFL age limit.) Also, you can't get serious practice with the football without playing serious ball, and in order to get serious ball, and to get noticed you have to play NCAA football.Darth Fanboy wrote:Arena League.....Straha wrote:Which is a monopolistic oerganization, profiting off of the fact that players have no where else to play, and that the only way to get into the NFL is through the NCAA.thecreech wrote:All because of some whinney bitch ass player that didn't want to pay his due's in the NCAA

I don't know, the sense of entitelment hasn't been going over well lately. He'll be drafted of course, but I'll wait and see what kind of contract he'll get and it better be a good one because he'll have alot of people gunning for him and unless he becomes the next Marcus Allen, he's going to only get a season or two before he's spit out.Straha wrote:And get paid millions for it.Howedar wrote:I hate that pussy little bitch Clarett. You sure about that? He could become a heriditary second string, he could become a pretty decent started, he could become the (haha) next Barry Sanders. Who knows now? All the vets just got the finger and their job security (which isn't great anyway) just got worse in 18 year old's are available for the draft. You can be the second but you ain't getting that far without the support (and blocking) of your team.
