Meeting of the Napoleonic Supersoldiers

Post by The Yosemite Bear »

Capt. Horatio Hornblower: The most deticated, and loyal hero of the royal navy, worked his way up on ships, and willing to risk his life for convict crewers.
Staus: Widowed (Childbirth)
Children: One Son

L.T. Sharpe: Lower class Irishman, who worked his way up the ranks, through iron will and perserverance. Willing to fight a duel with a professional killer to stop someone from abusing others. (Like Honor Harington, he also slaughtered the Professional Duelist).
Status: Widowed (His upper class Enemies Murdered her)
Children: One Daughter

What would happen if the two bigger then life fictional hero's of the Napoleonic wars, were to meet.

Neither. Richard Sharpe would step in and blow them both away. Sharpe in from the Sharpe series by Bernard Cromwell. He fought in basically every battle of the Napoleonic Wars. Willing to fight anyone and anything that threatens his family and friends.
Status: Married
Children: Two (adopted)

That's the one I was talking about, but I thought Teresa died in Sharpe's Enemies.

Hornblower by the end of the series remarries, to Lady Barbara Wellesley. So I believe a much fairer description would be remarried.

I think a lot comes done to what sort of situation this confrontation. He can handle himself well in combat on land but isn't brilliant. A lot would depend on who's in charge of the marines. In a duel he's as likely if, not more so, to walk away as is Sharpe.

I really doubt either would allow it to come to a fight. Hornblower is all to aware of the value of his fellow officers and isnt the kind to get into a needless duel or fight with a fellow officer. In fact, he would be rather horrified by the prospect.

He remarried. I think it was in either 'Waterloo' or 'Sharpe's Demon'
