I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.

ARE YOU ON CRACK?!? She made me want to set fire to the theatre and shoot myself at the same time (and I actually liked the movie!)Stormbringer wrote:Actress in a Supporting Role: Liv Tyler, Return of the King
Could she have possibly been more whispery, slow, and melodramatic? Her performance actually made me want to not have sex with her, and that's impressive.
Uh, that move came out in 2001...ergo it does not qualify.Animated feature film: Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' on Heaven's Door

Hey, I like her performance. You don't have to. I think she did a damn good job portraying Arwen.Robert Treder wrote:ARE YOU ON CRACK?!? Maybe not, but the fact that they left off both Millennium Actress and Tokyo Godfathers makes me very angry indeed.Spanky The Dolphin wrote:Well, it shouldn't be. I totally agree with Robert on that point.

seriously though: Master and Commander > Return of the King
that gets my vote. i really don't give a shit about anything else. Awards Shows nauseate me....the shallow people, the elitism, the elevation of highschool culture. gah! Besides, shameless autofellatio should be left to the exclusive domain of Ron Jeremy films, where it belongs.

Kill Bill > RoTK. It's the most fun I've had at the movies since, actually, I honestly cannot remember having that much fun at the movies. It felt like seeing A New Hope for the first time.

No way. Kingsley DESERVES this award. I'll agree that Murray was good. Phenomenal, even. But Kingsley put in the best piece of acting I've seen since Rainman, and that's saying quite a lot.Col. Crackpot wrote:Queeb, i like Ben Kingsly, i really do. (so does the acadamy) But i think (and hope) this is Bill Murray's year.
The beauty of his role is that it was executed PERFECTLY. His performance was literally flawless. Murray was good, but in a lot of places I felt that he could have done a bit of a better job. This may be because we don't have any prior character depictions to go off of, but be that as it may, I never really FELT for Murray's character the way I did for Kingsley's.
Put another way: No one else could have played Kingsley's role. I could name a few that could have played Bill Murray's role just as well as he did.
