No. But it was apparently originally made for churches, and not for the general public to watch (if you can believe the tabloids, anyway).

No it wasn't. It was made for a general audiance. Otherwise, it wouldn't currently have the nation-wide release that it does.

What you really mean is that films that have a Christian subject matter are a niche.

Well if you want to go there, just remake Animal House with Jesus as Bluto Blutarsky. He was a guy witha taste for the vine, I remember one time that dude kept the tap running and running...and always made sure their were enough chips. He rocks.
