I can't take credit for the shadow work here, though. That pic is almost all fancy cutting, pasting, rotating and scaling on several different layers in Photoshop. (layers to get the candy cane between fingers, the ball of the hat behind the ear)

I borrowed and modified the hat from another avatar :roll:

The candy cane was one from many wrapped in a bow.

The beard was freehand though, with a few filters to liven it up a bit.
