Thank you, Hemlock, for once again failing to understand our distaste for people who fail to understand Evangelion. Can't say I expected anything more out of you.HemlockGrey wrote:Duck and cover, if Darth U and Spanky see this thread, we are all going to die...
Anywho, I don't have time to check out the models here at home, but i'll see if Spanky can comment on them specifically. Nude models aren't anything really odd or special, and hell, some people even make life-like custom dolls with latex, foam, and all sorts of realistic internal joints. Now that could be considered weird. The more important question is: why are americans and europeans so fucking immature that they have to point out every single instance of adult mechandise and act like it's everywhere in Japan and nowhere in their own nations? (You know what we should be discussing that comes from our nations? Furry porn. And lots of it) It wouldn't bug me if people wouldn't freak out about it so much.

Sorry, but almost every time someone brings up Eva you or Spanky get real pissed off and start acting really condescending and shit. Can't say I expected anything more out of you.
Frankly, I think it's because of society. The fundie-ruled periods in Protestant Europe and early America were essentially 'SEX! BAD!'. Then, into the early modern ages, in whichit was 'Sex! Naughty!'Anywho, I don't have time to check out the models here at home, but i'll see if Spanky can comment on them specifically. Now, America, mostly, is in the 'Sex! Teehee!' periods, whilst much of Europe, those fundie influences vanished, and Japan, those fundie influences never existing, have entered the stages of 'Sex. Cool!' and in some cases the early stages of 'Sex? Eh.'

Nearly all of the one I've seen, they're just treated like life-sized posable display figures.Nude models aren't anything really odd or special, and hell, some people even make life-like custom dolls with latex, foam, and all sorts of realistic internal joints. Now that could be considered weird.
I go by the same line of reasoning that they think their **** doesn't stink. The more important question is: why are americans and europeans so fucking immature that they have to point out every single instance of adult mechandise and act like it's everywhere in Japan and nowhere in their own nations?
Btw anthromorphic artists and anthro-porn artists lived everywhere around the world, and from what I've seen they don't go into pissing matches in whcih country art medium is better.

First of all, Hemlock: Shut the fuck up, you little twat.
Hmm... well, I looked at all of them to better guage what type of kits were being sold.
Basically, I do object to it, as it is displaying a 14-year-old girl in a rather sexually explicit pose. But I'm not freaking out over it and denouncing an entire country and culture because of it. There's worse in the US, anyway.
But are you 100% sure it's official? There are tons of unofficial garage kit manufacturers in Japan, so this might be one of them, depending on who the manufacturer is.

Yes, except you're missing the whole point we get pissed off; it's in taking 10 pages to have to repeat over and over to 2-3 people the Eva equivalents of "it's becasue Darth Vader was Luke's father. He said it at the end of Empire Strikes back, weren't you watching?!" or "Where did you get the idea there was only one Death Star, or that it all took place in the same system?"HemlockGrey wrote:EVERYONE FALL DOWN! Gainax have done their own hentai mangas so this is no major step really.Spanky The Dolphin wrote:First of all, Hemlock: Shut the fuck up, you little twat.

Don't get too angry though, calm down bud.
Uh, they did it in Europe before.Shinova wrote:Admiral Valdemar wrote: He is, otherwise Gainax would be awfully pissed off.
This is a JAPANESE company, you seem to forget they have TV channels with naked women telling the weather.
Now I've learned everything I need to know about Japan.

Have they? Can you prove it's not a doujinshi?Admiral Valdemar wrote:Gainax have done their own hentai mangas so this is no major step really.

Who is the manufacturer of that kit?
And I'm not getting pissed. I'm just telling Hemlock what a little child like him deserves.

Yes, but that shouldn't stop me from forming incomplete stereotypes, now should it?Yes, except you're missing the whole point we get pissed off; it's in taking 10 pages to have to repeat over and over to 2-3 people the Eva equivalents of "it's becasue Darth Vader was Luke's father. 103rd, actually. Someone had a pot-shot or two to make about the series way back in a thread, a bit after a long discussion with Yogi.VF5SS wrote:Ok that's the 102nd time I've heard that one.Thank you, Hemlock, for once again failing to understand our distaste for people who fail to understand Evangelion. Nothing much.
Anyway, this is seriously getting off topic. Could a mod split that whole brouhaha into the HoS or something so these fine people can continue their comments on these somewhat dubious artistic expressions?

I thought it was about how you liked to say BS and make 'incomplete stereotypes' to watch adult's reactions to infantile social experimenting?HemlockGrey wrote:Nothing much.

And yeah, it probably should be HOSed. Hemlock's issues have been deep running since he was still known as Cyril ans whining about my signature, at least.

You think that's when the kid started hating our guts and trying to make me out as the board antagonist, Utsanomiko?

That is really pathetically infantile, you realize? Deifinitely comparable to data_link's or Ben ingram's insistance on socially immature behavior for amusement. We aren't here to fucking amuse you by showing dissaproval of childish Netrat babbling and spamming.HemlockGrey wrote:Pretty much, yeah.
