Hmmm....

I'm a lonely wolf.
Although I have hundreds of person I know very well, I have only one real friend...and hopefully there'll be one more, when I find my "Lady Doom"...

I have a very strong addiction to independence.

I usually keep my emotions away from strangers. I have a "poker-face".
On the other hand my emphaty is very good. Which can be a curse, especially when I want to be alone and someone wants to share her/his problems with me...

I like to watch the world from a "distance" and learn each time something new about how this world "works".

I'm very-very quiet and the only things that can make me "dangerous" are:

My mother, traffic jams, impolitness and stupidity.

Mr Bean, The only child syndrome is not a technical term, just a collection of life experiences. Only children tend to be either very Inroverted or very outgoing. Guess I'm the later.

I have no significant psychological issues. I'm a happy, well-adjusted person. For some reason, this makes me feel abnormal.

I believe in saving energy (read: lazy). Although that's not really a psych problem...I guess I'm psychologically healthy.

According to Frued: I exist therefore I must want sex...

To follow todays over-classifieing of everyone as being something I'm: manic depressive, a perfectionist, suffer from mild acute anxiety, mild ADD, have bouts of rage, and basically a pesamistic skeptic... I guess I'm perfectly normal by societal standards...

Personally, I think I'm just a realist who has a couple of gripes and a few self defeating problems, all while trying to obtain of level of me that I can never attain.

I know exactly how you feel. Have you ever been watching TV and just turned it off because you can't stand watching the show anymore? Not because it's bad programming, but because the main character's situation is just painful for you to think about.

As for me, I've never been to a shrink or diagnosed with any disorders, but I tend to be obsessive-compulsive and have some mild reading problems, as in I'll often see one thing upon initial reading of a sentence, but upon more careful inspection, it turns out to be something completely different.

I am not completely sure this counts, but I am extremely introverted (will talk rarely, if at all, in public) and I have a very low self esteem.

I guess that's why I'm so lurkish here.

I've been blessed with a near-total lack of sympathy or compassion for my fellow man. I've seen video of people being killed (usually due to their own idioct) and laugh at them. As long as you're not in my family or a friend of mine, I don't care if you die. Heh, I guess that makes me a misanthropist or something. To the severely empathic: I recommend you watching Faces of Death.

I don't understand why was it needed to make such a movie...?

Yes, except I pick up on all the characters, no matter how minor, which is why I can't watch war movies. Every time there's a battle scene and scores of extras fall to their deaths, I physically hurt. It may be a movie, but that happens in real life, so the pain is extra-potent. Every single one of those people has a family back home, some with kids, others with girlfriends, some with parents to take care of. Every time I see a war movie, I get bombarded with the pain of all those people each one of those extras leaves behind; all those families who have to deal with the pain of their loss. For every single extra.

It gets to be quite a nuisance, so I just don't watch those kinds of movies anymore. "Platoon?" "The Deer Hunter?" "Saving Private Ryan?" "Apocalypse Now?" Nope. Not ever. Just can't do it.

I might be slightly OC, but nothing too severe. I never get depressed, but I'm not super-happy. Just sort of mildly apathetic.

In fact, I've always been sort of curious about depression. I know a lot of people complain about being depressed, and I'm sure a lot of it is hypochondria, though much of it must be legitimate. What's it like to be depressed? How do you know you're depressed?
And you may ask yourself, 'Where does that highway go to?'

Depressed: NOT FUN. You know you're depressed when you are sad moreso than normal, you are suicidal and/or have urges to self-mutilate, etc. etc.. Right now is a full-swing depressive episode for me.

You also tend to lose interest in things you used to enjoy doing, you tend to see many situations as hopeless even when there's a clear answer staring you in the face, you feel like no one can possibly help you or understand how you feel, and you're afraid to try to change things because you're scared...

It's a very helpless feeling, and even more so for anyone trying to help you out of your depression. That's worse than actually being depressed; being the one to try to help someone out of depression.
