1) They weren't exceptional boobies.
2) There are better movies out there with MORE boobies and BETTER boobies!!
3) I think I've seen a porn or two that had better storylines than "Starship Troopers." IT IS THAT BAD.
That is all.

The plot of Starship Troopers was about as good as that of a propaganda film, which might've been the point.

The black girl had nice ones. I thought most of the others were okay.1) They weren't exceptional boobies.
True, but most boobies now are fake, I like real ones even if they have flaws.
2) There are better movies out there with MORE boobies and BETTER boobies!!
But porn movies have terrible music. "Chick-a-chick-a-bow-bow"3) I think've seen a porn or two that had better storylines than "Starship Troopers." IT IS THAT BAD.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show - I didn't like it. I don't think people really watch this movie, so much as use it for a backdrop at parties.
Armageddon - See Deep Impact.
City Of Angels - I tried to like this movie. I really did.
The Spy Who Shagged Me - Yes, it's cute the first time. It doesn't stand the test of time, though.
The Sixth Sense - There's only so much of Bruce Willis looking confused I can take.
Deep Impact - See Armageddon.

It was a satire. And it's Verhoeven. Knowing that you can expect one of three things. Gratutious violence. Gratutious nudity. Or Gratutious violence and nudity.Zaia wrote:I hate "Starship Troopers." I missed it if it was there. Ugh.

Right. It can be satirical and a pile of steaming shit at the same time, IMO.neoolong wrote:It was a satire. And it's Verhoeven. Knowing that you can expect one of three things. Gratutious violence. Gratutious nudity. Or Gratutious violence and nudity.

Vanilla Sky was an okay movie but the revelation at the end of Jacob's Ladder was better 10 years ago.
I don't like Gone With the Wind. It's not a bad movie. I just don't like Scarlett and I think it is way over hyped on how good it's supposed to be.
I also don't like E.T. for much the same reason. Good movie, little cutesie, but it gets on my nerves because so many people make such a big deal out of it. I'm glad that all the parents are pumped because there's a good movie that they and their kids can like but that doesn't make it the be all end all of films.

Grease and ET. Both licked more balls than a jawbreaker addict.
Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."
In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!
If all you want to do is have some harmless, mindless fun, go H3RE INST3ADZ0RZ!!
Grrr! Fight my Brute, you pansy!

I love Verhoeven's stuff. Robocop and Starship Troopers make me laugh out loud at certain parts even to this day (anyone remember the car being advertised in Robocop? The "6000-SUX"). Starship Troopers' satire was excellent, in my opinion. The blood, gore and nudity just made it better.Zaia wrote:Right. As for popular movies I hate, there's Armageddon, for one. A complete piece of shit. I can suspend disbelief, but if we've got 18 days until an asteroid strikes, we're fucked. Sorry.
I liked Deep Impact a lot, to be honest. It was a very realistic scenario of what what would happen.

Half Baked, maaaaaaaan.
The fan base was worse than the movie itself imo

"Right now we can tell you a report was filed by the family of a 12 year old boy yesterday afternoon alleging Mr. Michael Jackson of criminal activity. A search warrant has been filed and that search is currently taking place. Mr. Jackson has not been charged with any crime. We cannot specifically address the content of the police report as it is confidential information at the present time, however, we can confirm that Mr. Jackson forced the boy to listen to the Howard Stern show and watch the movie Private Parts over and over again."

I really didn't see what was so big about Titanic. Sure, I kinda liked it when the ship sank, but it was so boring in my opinion.
The only good part of Armageddon was that I found some of the characters entertaining. Other than that, it was your typical doomsday scenario, and a reason why such a movie should be written by someone who actaully passed 8th grade physics.

Starship Troopers was a fun film. It was what, 90-100 minutes of brainless action?Zaia wrote: I hate "Starship Troopers." People I know actually liked that movie. WTF! One of those movies where you can sit in the seat at the cinema and not have to think for a while.

hell yeah! nothing wrong with that!It was absolute trash!
hell, yeah, the fact that they were unconvincing doesn´t change anything about the fact that they were cool.Huge, unconvincing compu-bugs,
umm... so what?lots and LOTS of gore,
irrelevant.and a shower scene with boobies. Big whoop.
yes, there was a storyline. but even if there hadn´t been one the movie would have been cool. Was there a storyline in there somewhere? I missed it if it was there. Ugh.

I loved Starship Troopers. I loved it even when I first saw the TV version, with the shower scene edited out.Zaia wrote:

1)The movie was good mindless FUN.
2)The movie was an excellent satire, and good at dispelling the book's militarisitc bullshit.
3)As it was supposed to be a propaganda movie, it succeded brilliantly. I've seen real Russian WWII propaganda movies, with plots even worse than this.
Have a very nice day.

Right, well, guess I fit into this topic to a 't', since it's POPULAR MOVIES THAT YOU HATE. Obviously 'Starship Troopers' fulfils criteria one since so many of you love it, and obviously I hate it (criteria two) because I found it to be a complete waste of time and it annoys the piss out of me that people try to turn such a shitty movie into something really deep and meaningful. I believe that's how D.W. feels about 'Matrix,' if I recall correctly.
Feel free to continue to tell me I'm wrong if you like, but I happen to think it's an idiotic movie and I practically felt myself get dumber while I watched it.

Well, in school, I passed someone humming 'Go greased lightening, go greased lightening' to themselves, and this past weekend I was forced to watch the damn movie whilst on a school trip to Baltimore.
DIE! DIE DIE DIE DIE! You stupid fucking movie with your stupid fucking plot, hell the lead actress is like thirty times LESS attractive at the end...
