Actually, you can join at 17 with signed parental permission. I don't feel so bad when I hear the 'I turned 18' mantra. Usually there's enough old farts and cogers to pipe up and make me feel pretty damn young again. I stay up till 3, get up at 8 and work 9 hours then go to classes. Hell yeah!!!

I think that what a person does upon turning 18 shows a great deal about what kind of person they are. When I turned 18, I bought a pack of cigarettes, smoked two, and threw the rest out. I also perused a sex shop, but I didn't waste any money.
I didn't vote in the elections that fall (and I'm still not registered). I've never bought a lottery ticket.
I did send in my draft card, though (after a few weeks of procrastinating). My friend never sent his in.
