Whoa, a real-life skeptic. From a philosophical point of view, he's not wrong, but the application of such standards to real life just plain borders on insanity.Master of Ossus wrote:That guy reminds me of the dumbasses on the GameFAQs forums. In particular, SSG was always running around screaming that I didn't have "proof" because "proof" does not exist, so I changed it to saying "convincing evidence," and he STILL ran around claiming that convincing evidence could not exist.
Darkstar's idiocy doesn't even come close to this

As far as I can see nothing coherent there.

Presuming there is something coherent is the mistake...literally I'm amazed this person isn't against his or her own self.Kuroneko wrote:I don't think I comprehend this at all... is Mellian advocating some sort of 'multiple solipsism' (and isn't that a contradiction in terms)? We are all Gods, because we are all one God..and God is the Universe, and everything in it and out. and so on. Conversations with God can better describe and expand on this. I believe it because no one, or nothing, as yet to prove me wrong...I believe it because it feels rights, and truer then anything else. soooo, i look at everything from that perpecstive, most of my opinions are base from that perpective.
As for the whole SSG...what amazes me if after 3 years he still adheres to his nonsense, it's like a tether because the instant he gives it up, he realizes how wrong he's been all these years, and he won't accept he was ever wrong.

Oh my God....
So what if Darkstar never actually used any logic. At least he never said that the rules of logic can change if you will them to

This "scientific process" you apparently dislike is what built our civilization today. And you obviously do not understand what it means.

baseless assumptions...

It basically means if you say something, back it up with evidence that other people can look at for themselves and confirm so.

That gives no guerantee that it is true.

I have, but you people keep saying i have no proof, my words only doesn't count, and etc... You people already decided not to believe me at all, except if i start spurting out stuff you people already believe in. Once i do, you'll end up saying, finally!!!

Sounds like someone who found the truth to the universe in the bottom of a bong. That, or she is being purposefully contrary. This could have a few possible goals, most likely being a "test", to show how everyone relied on faulty logic or less-than-perfect arguments to debate her (thus leading to personal validation), or just to stir up shit.Shadow WarChief wrote:------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have one standard test for people like this who believe that they can change their reality by what they believe. Go to the top of a very tall building and jump off, while completely naked. If you can fly away or float to safety, you're right. If you splatter, you're wrong.
Funny how none of them ever seem to want to take this test, even when the stakes are much lower.
Do not meddle in the affairs of insomniacs, for they are cranky and can do things to you while you sleep.

Although I think it's all bullshit, it could be argued that the splattering was caused by the vast majority of people "believing" that jumping off of high places makes you splatter, and that that majority overrides the beliefs of a few individuals.Hotfoot wrote: I have one standard test for people like this who believe that they can change their reality by what they believe.
