Actually, I think "A Fish Called Wanda" might be funnier than any of the Monty Python movies (sacriligious as that may sound), so I thought that should be mentioned on this thread.

Trigger Happy TV was one of the best new shows of recent years. I saw Dom Jolly on TV once comparing with Liam Gallagher how may times they'd each been arrested. I remember Trigger Happy TV before it even had it's own show. Dom Jolly used to make wee fillers for the Paramount Comedy Channel to go between the breaks. I read that he had to give it up because it was makign his personal life hell. If he was going to with his G/f waiters reconised him and refused to serve him etc.

Yeah, briefly considered getting it on DVD. Ended up with Red Dwarf instead and I'm on a tight budget now. Just Red Dwarf, West Wing and B5 from now on. Maybe Some more Farscape next year. Already got the entre 2nd adn 3rd series though, so I've plenty to keep me busy.

Ever watch The Young Ones?

That was hilarious. Endlessly rewatchable. Pretty much any exchange between Ted and Dougal was fantastic. Or Jack and anyone else. The entire 3rd series was inspired, particularly the house keepers at the footbal match. 'Go on, my son'. Brilliant. Or the one with the sheep.

Trigger Happy Tv always cracked me up, especially the sketches that involved the guys in monkey suits...

But that was really just a Python movie with a larger cast :^)

Grr. If it doesn't have all the Pythons it's not really a Python movie.

Heretic! You dare compare "a Fish Called Wanda" to a masterpiece like "Life of Brian?" OK, I'll admit that Jamie Lee Curtis looks pretty damned good in this movie, and Otto is a classic character, but I don't see it measuring up to Life of Brian, which approaches genius.

I just rewatched "Life of Brian" last night! MoO, you just can't compare "Wanda" to "Holy Grail"! That is an absolute classic!

BTW, the same idiot stutterer that has tried to shut down Howard Stern squeezed an apology out of John Cleese for "Wanda's" "stutterer-bashing!

Fierce Creatures and A Fish Called Wanda were on last month, I loved the former just as much.

FYI, the Python films are in a DVD boxset now.

No... well, perhaps. I used to be like that until I saw Holy Grail.

I think the explosive guy just before a certain rabbit scene should be dubbed as Michael Bay, the director who can't have a single film without a million dollars of pyrotechnics.

Well, I thought that Holy Grail was their best film, but I also thought that ALL of the characters in Wanda were great. If anything, Wanda is a better movie. Whether or not it's actually FUNNIER than the original films is a more interesting question.

The bridge scene would be one of the most quoted scenes in history..."tell me your name...tell me your quest...what is your favourite colour?" It even appeared in Fallout!

I really liked Johnny English. I nearly died watching that!
