I just realized that's pretty messed up on so many levels. Endless tainted love eh? Sounds like my love life.

USA: "The Reflex" by Duran Duran

GB: "Two Tribes" by Frankie Goes to Hollywood

I don't think I've heard "The Reflex" before, or at least I don't recognize the title. After playing Vice City, I've come to like "Two Tribes".

Tiny, multi-coloured chick with a kickass vocal range and very strange fashion sense even for the '80's. That particular song was one of her best, I think.

I think I knew this first part and had purposely blocked it
from my mind. :|

US: Aquarius / Let the Sunshine in by 5th Dimension

ah this is much better.

UK: Get Back by The Beatles With Billy Preston

Never seen this song listed as "with Billy Preston". Does that mean
the official version of While My Guitar Gently Weeps says with
Eric Clapton

I actually think both of your's come from movie soundtracks.

I think the Lionel Richie one is from White Nights but I may be wrong on that one. It's a slow sappy song.

The Going Gets Tough... is definately from Romancing the Stone: Jewel of the Nile. I remember seeing the video with Michael Douglas, Danny Davito and Kathleen Turner dancing/singing in it.

That would make me 'saddest-er' then, because I have several "best-of-the-80's" compilation sets in my CD collection and a fair amount of original '80's albums on vinyl 8)

The U.S. number 1 on the 3rd July 1976 was 'Silly Love Songs' by Wings.
The U.K. number 1 on the 3rd July 1976 was 'You To Me Are Everything' by The Real Thing.

I don't think I've heard either of them.
