It *was* the last straw.. all the problems that she had had with other members before were what led up to it. However, I do know that she's doing well.. Though there is still a bit of tension between her and the members she had problems with (at least on her part).. but meh.

Well DAMN

This is what I get for leaving off for six months. I hadn't even realized she wasn't around when I returned to full time posting. I'll miss the old NC State vs UMD threads we had but I guess she just didn't like the way th heat gets turned on. I'm sad she won't be around though but oh well such things happen.

Verilon, could you do me a huge favour?

Would you mind telling Kelly that my not contacting her in the recent weeks isn't because I'm trying to avoid her, but because recently I just can't get onto AIM until later at night.

Let her know also that I'm really sorry about it and that I've missed her a lot...

No problem.

If anyone else would like me to relay messages, I don't mind doing so.

Thanks Ver. I've just felt terrible about it...

Being a good friend of hers, I was one of several that talked to her a lot, and am very aware of what happened near the end. But I will keep such details private.

I will say though, that she was greatly irritated by the behavior of a few specific members (one in particular) that often hijacked threads and practically masturbated over and smothered any female member that gave them so much as a glance or responce...

EDIT: And yes, Shinova, you are SO getting "Space Cadet" as your title for this... :P

And ver, can you ask Kelly if she has me on her 'ignore' list or something? Because I've sent her two or three emails and she never responded.

The basic rundown of the whole affair can be found in my rant at her in the HoS. I felt that she was overly emotional and got sick of her constant threats to leave the board because it wasn't living up to her expectation that it should be some sort of personal support group for her.

I don't mind people occasionally bringing their personal lives on to the board, but she was a moderator, and thus held to higher standards. She constantly got emotional over flaming that was not out of the ordinary on this board, and frankly, I didn't think she had the skin for the job. So I let her know. She accepted my challenge to finally make good on her never-ending threats to leave the board and left.

Kelly was a bit too thinskinned:

I always got the feeling "is it that time of the month again?"
whenever she went into a snitty rant about how everyone
was against her.

You would have to add in one purely heterosexual female for parity, it'd be a great sitcom.

(begin)

Gay Man wants

Straight Man wants

Lesbian Female wants

Straight Female wants

(repeat)

We could make a show and/or a porn out of that and we'll call it Fearsome Foursome. Either way you look at it, someone's getting fucked when the solution is group sex.

But then, in a startling plot twist, the women up and leave and shep forgets to stop...

Being as how I never participate in the SDN "community" threads (maybe that's why my post count is so low :)), and she participated virtually exclusively in them, I never noticed she was gone until now.

Now I see why they want to call you "Space Cadet" :P She announced that she was leaving, and gave the impression that it was rather permanent almost two months ago.

<edit>
I see this question has been answered in great detail and Shinova is now really known as Space Cadet. We all know how to get in touch with Kelly, if need be. (Poor Verilon, undoubtedly overloaded with PMs)
