For example, did you know ther is a way to overclock Floppy drives?

Yes there is, one of the reasons I went through so many of those things is its a no going back sort of deal :D
I mentioned the most commonly known version of over clocking. The P4 1.7ghz can be safely overclocked to 3.8ghz

I've had a computer job for about 3.5 years now. Before then my primary interest in computers was to just to play games.

My first computer was a Ti-99/4a. It was actually a decent machine but they went the proprietary route. Needed a joystick? You had to use a TI joystick.
That got old quick and it was replaced by a C-64 when TI dropped the line.

After that I did not have another personal computer till I graduated from San Jose State. It was a Pentium 133 with Windows 95.

The first computer in my house came back in 1997. However, the first one I used was a decade-old Apple II in elementary school. It was almost standard issue for Catholic schools at the time. Where I went for grades 4 and 5, in tohse 2 years, the computer lab went form all Apple IIs to all newer IBM computers with Windows 95.

I, like most others here, started with an Apple ][e in grade school (back in '87?). Let's see... moved on to a Tandy system (90% IBM clone; I forget the model), then a series of IBM compatibles up to the current system I have.

Damn, Oregon Trail has got to be the most well known Apple 2E game ever made. I loved the hunting bit, and running the river at the very end was always interesting.
