First car - 1985 Peugeot 505 STI. 4-cyl, used to be a nice car until Peugeot left the US, and then it turned into a POS. Looked kinda like this.

*sigh* Mine was a '80 Chevy Malibu , white with a blue interior. It was an ex-sheriffs car from South Carolina and had a 305 V-8 with a twin Holley Carb and a Hurst shift kit in it......It kicked more ass than you have sat on. I'd roll up on sporty cars in my demure 4-door and, blow the doors off them...it was a sniper racer you never once saw it coming. Sadly, it was totalled by of all people my mother who borrowed it to go to work one morning while her car was in the shop. Foot slipped off the brake as she was parking and gunned it into a concret loading dock from about 10 feet away, smashed the front end all to hell and bent the frame(Mom was just fine , a bit bruised, and upset as all hell at having smashed my baby) I lacked the funds to repair her and was forced to sell her off for parts......I miss that car....if anyone knows where I can get another one let me know

My first car...in a month and a half...will be a nice one. And I'll pay for it myself, too. It's gonna be a Honda. Probably a Civic. I can't decide if I want an LX or an EX...

1985 Toyota Celica GT, 4cyl, 2.4Litre RWD. That model had the largest engine displacement of all the celica's past and present ( Excluding CelicaSupra). It was a pretty kickass car for its age. It had pretty low mileage on it too (100k + change). Unfortunately, it got smashed on the freeway. Now I have a 90' Civic DX that can't accelerate worth crap.

It you can afford to front an extra $1000 bucks, go with the EX. Just don't expect to get a lot of 'oomph' out of it. The only upside I see in getting a new civic, is that it gets kickass gas mileage ( great in California). That and if you have the nowhow, turn it into a riceburner.

If it is around 90 grand on the clock, get the cam belt replaced {$NZ 500} oh and rember that Honda's have a expected life span of 7 years and get bloody expensive to maintain after that, otherwise a very good car the civic is.

Ahh good, cause over 120 000km {or 7 or so years, whatever comes first}they are costly, to say the least also make damn sure it is properly serviced, each year, and preferably twice a year..
Sorry I refer to the timeing belt.

Lol, I dont know much, but I do know to research any vehicle I would be interested in buying. I read the Dog&Lemon guide to cars, It covers all makes and models in NZ up to the present month and tells you what to avoid.
In short, never buy British, all American cars, treat with susption. European cars are dodgy at best and German cars are only good for 3 years from new. Japanese cars, if properly maintained are very reliable with in their life span if properly serviced. In short, be safe and buy a Toyota corrola, they are exceptionaly reliable, but you do risk dying of boredom at the wheel.

Oh, that. Well, Toyota have managed to breed all the fun out of their cars, they have no character. At. All. I drive a 72 Hillman Hunter, and it has plenty of character and is, compared to a modern car, interesting to drive. Toyota's and most Japanese family cars are just plain boring to drive compared to family cars of yesteryear.

The new petrol/electric hybrids are ok, bit pricy as yet however and should be very good for around town. I do understand that the Japanese/Ford and GM are doing some serious research into fuel cells which holds some promice. Having been to london I seriously hope that fuel cell technology works, I really do.

If trees could scream, would we be so cavalier about cutting them down? We might if they screamed all the time for no good reason.

It's not PMS you have to be afraid of, contrary to popular belief. It's when they ask questions. Personal questions. "Am I better than your ex?" questions. Guys have the ability to not ask these questions, because we all know that there are no answers to these questions, only punishments.

Just clamp your hands over your ears and run away screaming.

Fortunately, I have to deal with neither....ah...the joys of being gay....and punishments COULD be a good thing....!
