Does that not indicate that I thought that the movie versions were at least slightly better than the book versions? Admittedly, I added that part in an edit, but you must have read it since you quoted it in your own post.
As it stands, the characters in the movies were far more interesting than their counterparts in the books, but they're still quite lacking. Silk purses and pigs ears and all that.
There is only so much you can do in a movie adaption so why whine about it?. Most people havent read the books and think its ok.
A lot of people thought that a lot of bad movies were okay. That doesn't mean I can't still have my own opinion about them.

I am not saying you cannot have your own opinion about the movies..I didnt much like the first LOTR, but just dont whine about something when it is impossible to deliver.

What really amazes me is that even after the person who started the first thread came back and explained that it was a gag, people still wrote in to correct him about that first post. Don't they read the thread before they write?
