yup. pathetic really, though from experience i know that a .22 can cause damage, and in the right hands with a good scope, that type or rifle does make a good sniper weapon. it's a maiming, not really killing weapon, which is what makes this so nasty, at least the guy IS killing most of his targets as versus leaving them to bleed to death and suffer.

They're using .223 rounds, not .22. There is a difference.

I don't think so. I believe the kid was the seventh and there was some debate on whether it was the mystery sniper or not. At least that's what they were saying last time I watched the news.

Pretty damn good for the avarage terriorst, also consider he might not ALWAYS be shooting to kill, Leaving a victum alive or two is very valuable(For example put a shot through the Liver of somone in a crowded Area, they will scream thier heads off while they bleed to death, ALOT of blood belive me)

Well acutal in a sick way I prefer it because I know no matter who or the reasons the Anti-Gun nutters will get ahold of this(Thank you very much but I HUNT, In my old home in North Carilona we had a Deer every six hours being hit by cars because they where giving Rabbits a @^@% run for thier money in breeding speed) and if they were armed the anti-gun people will say ooh look how useful that hand-gun was VS a trained Sniper A quater Mile away(Ignoring the base sitation, A Handgun is to protect you aginst Robbery and smaller Crimes, NOT RPG attacks or shots from half a mile off)

But a fanatical terrorist is not cowed easily, and when you think about the fear spread by this one sniper, you realize how much damage Al-Quaeda could be doing if they were even one tenth as organized and efficient as the government makes them out to be.

The fact remains that though the US military is mighty it cannot defend against these kind of attacks. And unless the US wants to nuke the entire world it will never stop them. Thats the point of terrorist attacks to erode at national confidence, and by god whoevers doing this is going damn well.

It should be manditory traning as far as I'm concered
For the Good of America(Seriously my friends where serious Gamers, two, played 2 hours a day of that game or where very into RPGS)

When we where out camping and some Sonabitch was hunting to close to the town, barley had the shot faded when I looked around to find myself with my back to my car hands at the ready and looked over to see one had made a nice leap behind a nearby hedge while the other was ducking behind the car with me

Meanwhile our RPG guy was standing in the open, hands over his ears looking around real slow

RPG'ers tend to have "issues" with fast paced action, but they're more likely to think clearly under pressure and with better results.

as for the CS stuff, i'm not surprised, i still remember when the fuckwads in the college engineering department made a LN2 bomb with a cokebottle, i was in the office and when that thing went off i hit the deck instantly as if it was a grenade, and of course started shouting orders... it was funny, even the dean of the department listened to me, then we went outside carefully to see what was up, nothing but a shitload of plastic shards and a cloud of steam... funny as hell, but some heads rolled afterwards (and yes, this was post-9/11) it was an end of quarter prank.

i scared the hunter safety instructor real good by picking up the gun during the live fire excercise and holding it like one would hold a gun in a combat situation.

of course there was the "coke-can rabbit" incedent on that one hunting trip...
