There is so many, I can't decide. The swath of myth from the Persian Empire over to the classical Greek myths and up into the Norse and Celtic myths of Europe.

I guess if I had to choose just one, I find the early Hebrew take on Angels to be fasinating, though easisly tracked to Mesopotamian and Arkadian myth.

They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

Being Irish my particular thing is pre-Celtic Mythology. I've been all over Ireland visiting the pre-celtic burial tombs like New Grange. The New Grange burrial toomb particularially interests me because it of the way it was built. It's designed so that sunlight only ever enters the tomb on winter and summer solstice and even then only a thin beam hits a large dish at the end of the main chamber where the ashes of the dead where kept. The best thing about it is that the Celts wiped out the pre-celts so no-one left knew the real purpose of the tomb leaving it all up to your imagination.

For my money, you can't beat superheroes and Jedi Knights, even if your name is Zeus or Ra.
And you may ask yourself, 'Where does that highway go to?'

1. Egyptian-it just plain out rocks. Anubis is the most awesome one. Not to mention it is what got me into Stargate.

2. Roman-I have been to Rome and have seen the statues of all the Gods and what not, and I have to say it is really breathtaking.

3. Greek-I am not sure why, mabye because it is close to Roman.

4. Not sure

I don't know if I'd call Egyptian mythology classy. Somehow, whacking off and spooging out the universe just doesn't seem like the definition of "class".

What I find really fascinating is prehistoric religion, particularly Neolithic practices in Mesopotamia and Anatolia. Maybe because what can be determined of their mythologies isn't polluted with literary invention.

I Love Norse (and, more Broadly, Germanic) mythology.

Greek myths, definitely. I'm also partial to Chinese mythology. Fear the Monkey King!

Irish, obviously. Became fascinated with it when I was in high school & I've been hooked ever since. What really intrigues me is the complex relationships between some of the characters. Fionn Mac Cumhail and Goll mac Morna, for example.
After all, this is completely straightforward. What could possibly go wrong?

The best mythology is porn.

The great myths of porn are enduring classics, such as "every secretary is really hot, and wants to be fucked up the ass by the deliveryman". And who can forget the classic porn myth "grab a woman's ass and she'll want to have sex with you"?
