I've had a good deal of practice with my sarcasm detector. Only my whole darn life (17.5 years, roughly) living with my parents. Every night at the dinner table, sarcasm sarcasm sarcasm. I've picked up a little myself, but they use it all the time. Is there something about ex-New York Jewish families in which sarcasm is commonplace?

Back to the subject at hand, there is a difference between a feminist and a feminazi. Most of my female relatives in their 20s are feminists (my sister, at least one cousin, a couple second cousins), plus one of mom's cousins in her 50s who heads a NOW chapter. As far as I can tell, they're not man-haters. Heck, the one in her 50s has a husband and kids.

On the subject of feminazis, did anyone see that lesbian activist who went on the UK Big Brother this friday?

You'd have hated the show even more after seeing her behaviour on the initiation evening. She was a bitch: wouldn't go in the house until she snogged her girlfriend in front of everyone [no one else, of course, did such a thing]. She then stated making gestures to the crowd and generally acted like a little girl/arse hole.

What a bitch!

I haven't heard a single positive statement about the new series. This will be the last.

And I have not met any women like that. Other than the few who jumped me in the 5th grade, busting my face in with their steel toed shoes. Bad memories. :(

What exactly is a feminazi anyway? It seems to be a fairly common term in the US but I’ve never heard it used in Britain.

You haven't heard it there because you don't have Rush Limbaugh, a conservative radio personality who coined the phrase. It refers to the crazy feminist (who really is something different than a feminist, hence the new term) who genuinely hates men. Cf the SCUM Manifesto.

They are those psycho people who think 'feminism' is about not only giving women all the rights men have, but taking away the rights men have. Getting rid of the phallus-filled world and eliminate the Old Boys Club that secretly keeps the Wimmin down....

basicly "Female Chauvanists" for lack of a better term. Those who seek not equality, but supremacy.
