I would go to the Roman Empire and take over. You know how it works already. Use the technological superiority to become Emperor and start industrial revolution hundreds of years before it's supposed to. Even if it fails and they crucify me, it would still be cool.

I'd choose the 80's invest in a startup, make millions, make a few more million on betting on sports events (Like what Bif did in Back to the Futue II).

My second choice would be ancient Rome or Greece. Lots of people, and it was more prosperous than in Mideval Europe.

I would probably live in the 30's or 40's. There is a decent level of medical care, and I like the suits from those eras.

Also, there would acutally be large areas of the earth that are not overcrowded like they are today. So it would be interesting to travel.

Of course, I met get caught up in the horrors of WW2 but no time or place is safe. At least in WW2 the enemies are really easy to hate.
