Have you ever written something that made a person cry?

I had a game of "Werewolf: the Apocalypse" that I was running for two years. In the final night of the game several important members of the tribe (including one of the PCs) died, and everyone was all choked up about it. It's amazing how emotionally involved you can get with characters you've played for that long.

Off the subject, I'm amazed by how much the Brotherhood of the Monkey has grown since I used to post. And what's with this "Cult of the Kitten"?

Cult of the Kitten was a thing between a few of us involving Sluggy Freelance.

Yes, to a ex-girl-friend... Don't want to get into much details, though...

Back in my high school days I was head over heels, madly in love with a girl who was a first crush for me. Well, she was two years older than me, and thus graduated while I was a sophmore. I kind of realized that I didn't have a shot to be with her at that point, and wrote a kind of Final Goodbye letter to her, that was not meant to be read by her, or anyone else for that matter except me. Naturally, years later the damn thing falls into enemy hands. Namely, my now soon to be ex-girlfriend. She found it a few days ago while rummaging through my apartment, and apparently broke down while reading it. She said that she got sad because she thought to herself that I would never say the same things about her (which unfortunately for me, was true). After that, things we've kind of gone our seperate ways and nobody's quite had the balls to call the relationship quits. Probably will happen this week, though.

Zaia wrote:Actually, I just remembered.... This is a bad-crying story, but I'm going to tell it anyway. Just the recap.

Probably not many of you remember, but I told a story a while back in a thread about this guy I was in love with for yeeeeeeeeears in high school, who I eventually got over. He of course then fell in love with me. Since I had fallen out of love with him, I could then see that he had treated me badly and so I decided my life would be better if he wasn't in it anymore.

Well, a few months ago I wrote him a letter explaining how I feel about him now. This letter went into detail concerning things that had been bothering me for years; all the selfish, inconsiderate, thoughtless things he did everyday without noticing. After this letter skillfully explained these things to the boy, it informed him that I no longer wanted him in my life and that for my own good I needed him out.

I heard later from a mutual friend that he cried for an hour after reading that, said that he was happy that I was finally taking care of myself, but that he kept crying because he realized he had lost me for good.
That made me cry. Things like that always make me think about a friend of mine....

I'm not going into anymore detail than that.

And I remember you telling that story.

A couple of my poems made some of my friends cry, also when I described the plots of some of my upcoming works they cried. I think I also made a couple of people cry with a song I wrote once. I'm just a dark person.

I did it without shedding a tear myself, so maybe I'm an insenstive bast--errr, bitch. *shrug* Either way, it involved something I wrote that made someone cry, so there it is.

And XaLEv, I'm sorry that it made you cry. I hope I didn't bring back too many painful memories. *hug* I didn't mean to.

Does singing songs count?

I once did Kavana's "Will You Wait For Me" at a concert once and a friend came to tell me that she cried throughout the whole thing.

Does reading what I write about depression and breaking down afterwards count?

I've done both, as well as "God, that was sad."
Yeah, I've done all three. But mostly it's been the "God you are a vicious mean cold hearted bastard"

No, I have to wipe my eye too. But maybe I'm just strange. There are parts of BlackHawk Down where I get a lump in my throat too, and I think I'm the only one.

Well, I would say your not the only one to get a lump in your throath, however I don't really cry at parts. I sorta get all fucking angry and stuff. even the ending when he's talking to the deceased, sorta pisses me off, mainly because of the situation that brought about the events. maybe that has nothing to do with your post. my bad.

Well, you're weird, but not because of that. :)
Of course, the soundtrak to Gladiator was designed for tears at the end. I always go, "<sob> Now he's with his family in Elysium!"

Haven't seen Black Hawk Down, though I probably should sometime.

Definitely man. You should watch Black Hawk Down. That movie has to be one of the best. I saw We Were Soldiers one night, then went and saw BHD the next day, and both movies were just stellar.
