Despite the advantange in number of soldiers and some fields of military technology, we Eurotrash are quite weak militarly compared to the United States. There's no denying it.
However, there is no way how US would be able to occupy and hold more than few EU countries. Coordination between EU militaries would not be as hard as it might sound like, because all member countries have unified command structures - also including those who are not in NATO.
According to the worldwide press, Pentagon estimates that 60,000-250,000 soldiers will be needed to ínvade and hold Iraq. We are talking about a single country with "only" 26 million inhabitants and a second-rate military. EU has 15 member states and its population is over 300 million... The Swedish Air Force alone has over 200 multipurpose fighters and we are talking about a country with nine million people!
Let's look at Kosovo. USA moved its assets to the Adriatic Sea, but despite intensive aerial attacks the Serbian military (including their air force) was mostly intact and fully capable. This was the reason why NATO didn't dare to directly invade.
And don't say a word about invading Europe! There's no way USA would be able to provide enough logistic support for their invasion army. Stop wanking!
