Thing is with my sister, we're both adults and everything, but i just don't like her. She's not a very nice person. She's uptigh, prudish, and constantly treats me like one of her schoolkids (she's a biology teacher). Most imprtantly, I don't get any respect from her, so I don't feel obliged to offer her any.

I can't help you out here since I live in blissful co-existence with my siblings, and I'm also the eldest one so it's the sorta like the opposite of you. My sister might as well be a clone of me considering how similar we are, sure we have a few disagreements here & there but there's never any hurt feelings or hostility between us. It's more like 2 friends having a friendly tiff over their fave sports team than anything else. Come to think of it, in addition to being my sister, she's also my best friend and I really love her and get along with her well and it's been this way for as long as I can remember.

I didn't think so...but the way you described her I suspected that she had that "I know what's best for all the morons in the world" attitude that I felt was coming from Hillary & Co. when they were trying to do healthcare. :D

Actually, I got along with my siblings EXTREMELY well. They are 13 and 11 years older than me, so that probably helped.

The only major thing me and my older sister get into arguments about is that she believes that man never landed on the moon.

It seems like every time I refute an arguement she replies that it's all one big lie from NASA.

Example:
"How do we know that the stars are too dim to see? That could be another lie from NASA to cover up the moon hoax. Face it, the only way to prove my arguements are false is to use the propaganda NASA spews out!"

My sister is two years older than me, and we've always gotten along very well. I never understood the whole anti-sibling thing.
And you may ask yourself, 'Where does that highway go to?'

I have a brother who is four years older than me, who is constantly at odds with other family members because he's a selfish, greedy and above all very reactionary crybaby. He'll stop talking to my mother for weeks because she didn't order Chinese for him. Also gets on my nerves a lot since he enjoys being annoying. His excuse is that he's trying to make me laugh; somehow he sees me as some crabby humorless husk that needs cheering-up and he doesn't realize that the end result of his "joking" is a very annoyed Rob.

As for my younger sister, I often fight with her over political and religious matters. She's extremely stubborn and loth to admit she's wrong a lot, but we do share a lot of the same interests so we do get along most of the time. She annoys me too though since I'm usually her ride and she loves capitalizing my room, spending hours on my comp or playing video games.

I've got an older brother (30) and we get along fine now. When we were under the same roof, we got along most of the time. However, there were those times where one of us would just snap and that'd be it. It rarely got physical since either my mother would intervene or we'd solve it ourselves.

It's called sibling rivalry.

It's futher refined into:

Fraturnal Instinct: The instinct to eleiminate the competition and kill the rival siblings.

Sororital Instinct: The Instinct to dominate the other siblings through mind games.
