That wasn't me. That was Ben Green. Aka Benny Porn. ok, back, and finally recovered from being poked. That was an experience! And yes, I am glad to be a Lassie... And God Ando I hope Porn wasn't watching me (uncomfortable shiver).
Sometimes I think I'd be better off dead. No wait, not me, you... Jack Handey Deep thought
That was a stupid thing to say and you are stupid for saying it!

Yes, but it was required that two people carry the body to the dakhma, or tower of silence. This actually serves a semi-reasonable purpose, as it would prevent a murderer (who believed in the religion) from simply dropping the body off, since any single person who touched the body would be ritually unclean. The bones also had to be buried properly once all soft biologicals had been consumed. In modern times, some Zoroastrians in cultures where the dakhma are unacceptable have begun using electrical cremation instead, since fire is considered holy to them, and should not be made unclean by the presence of a dead body.fgalkin wrote: hmm, Zoroastrianism has death rituals? Don't they leave the body in a special tower for the scavengers?
Have a very nice day.
