I dunno. Whenever I picture Shatner singing the Beatles, it makes me shudder.Zaia wrote:But...but...but.....that's so fucking hilarious! How can you not love it?!EmperorSolo51 wrote:I think the worst song of all time should be "Lucy In the Sky With Diamonds" cover by William Shatner. That song almost made me lose my sanity.
No. I don't tire of good songs. I've heard most of The Rolling Stones' songs countless times, and they never get old. I do, however, tire of songs like this...Zaia wrote: Ok, I'm not defending any of those songs in particular, but I think ANY song played over and over and over again gets annoying. Does that actually decrease the quality level of that song? I know I've heard "Stairway to Heaven" a billion times on 70's stations and I know I get sick of it. Does that mean it's a horrible song? Consensus would say no, but I sure do get annoyed by it when it's played over and over again.
My point is that some of the songs that are played to death aren't actually bad songs. And I think the fact that the radio plays them repeatedly is actually against the best interest of the artists, but what do I know? I'm just a lowly musician...

You have not heard awful until you've heard this. I present
"The Glory of the Human Voice" ...by Florence Foster-Jenkins. THAT's bad. AND it was intended to be music.
I think this review says it best, and I've included links to music samples so you can hear this ear ruining awfulness for yourself. Arg! My ears! The earplugs do nothing!

"The distance between self-perception and truth has never been greater. [...] Fully convinced in the beauty of her vocal prowess, she was probably the worst singer ever to hold a solo concert at Carnegie Hall (October 25th, 1944), or anywhere else, for that matter. [...] Tickets were very hard to come by, because she seldom gave recitals, and had attained an almost cult status as a woman convinced of her greatness but wholly incapable of carrying a tune. [...] Her recitals were accompanied by extravagant costumes, with no fewer than three changes per evening. A taxicab crash in 1943 made her believe that she could sing “a higher F than ever before,” and rather than suing the company, she sent the driver a box of fine cigars. [...] Knowing this context (which is more fully fleshed out in this CD’s liner notes) nevertheless can not prepare anyone for the shock of actually hearing her recorded voice; if anything, the knowledge that Jenkins is taking herself very seriously only can heighten the odd, excruciatingly funny experience of listening to this disc. [...]

Say, do you want it to be a threesome with your wife? Or a foursome with your wife and sister-in-law? I'm up for either.

Oh! Another suggestion! "My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion! I utterly DESPISE that song (I have since the first time I heard it, and even more so since I has to play it in orchestra in high school).

I can't believe that nobody has picked "Block Party". That has to be by far one of the worst songs I've ever heard.

Is there something wrong with Ja Rule's vocal chords?
I heard him "sing" once, there is something wrong with that man.

That's called Power Metal, IIRC.Rye wrote:any metal where the singer sounds castrated, i.e. all high notes, and too many guitar solos, no double bass drum.Simon H.Johansen wrote:WTF is that??Rye wrote:hmm...worst songs = cheesy pretentious castrati metal.

personally I hate that music where the 'vocalist' can't sing, only growl, usually about raping nuns.

That particular combination of noises which will go down in history being called "Seventies Porn Music" -- Which, sadly, had to be used for far more than merely porn, because then you might have a chance of going through life without hearing it. Actually, this is partially being selected because of the horrors it usually heralds--a bit like the worst double-punch ever conceived of.

I got home from work today to find my niece watching the Box on TV. The Fast Food Rockers should be fucking shot for crimes against humanity. If i ever go to hell i't'll be me in the movie 8-legged freaks with the The Fast Food Rockers playing constantly in the background.
RIP Yosemite Bear

Anything by Pat Boone from his In a Metal Mood album. It does prove that lyrically Enter Sandman is crap. You have to have Metalica style music along with it to be any good.
I also can't stand Aquarius by the Fifth Dimension. Patially because it sucks royally and partially because it was the number one song when I was born.![Evil or Very Mad ](./images/smilies/icon_evil.gif)
